Treatment of trichiasis with argon laser photocoagulation.

Treatment of recurrent trichiasis with argon laser photocoagulation is
still discussed. In our study were treated 25 lids of 20 patients with
aberrant lashes. Each lash was treated with a beam of 50-100 micron spot
size, time 0.2 s, power 1-1.2 Watt. We use topical anesthesia. In 5 cases
we treat again grown up lashes. All treated cases have been followed for
over 3 years with satisfactory results. No complications were observed.
Conclusion: The argon laser is a useful for the treatment of trichiasis.
