Bräuning J.

Universitäts-Augenklinik, Tübingen

New technologies, politics, communication systems and a different behaviour of patients influence the health systems and also the relationship between doctors and patients. This may lead to an other quality of the doctors work. In the environment of global health care systems and the adaptation between local systems there will increase standardized processes for the management of diseases. On the other hand more exact individual concepts for treatment procedures will be developed. The modern patient uses information technologies for better integration in the decision making process of his treatment. Traditional procedures in examination and documentation will be replaced through technical procedures which lead to well documented and objective data. These changes will influence the quality of treatment and the way of disease management. Experts analysed the success factors for to acquire patients: organizing better service than normal, using fast and detailed E-Health Systems, an attractive and profiled high quality service of the department and a better possibility of financing the services. This presentation will show the possibilities and risks of a E - Health Society in combination with apparatus medicine and discusses the consequences towards ophthalmology. Analyses for future developments based on expert opinions and also the consequences on (virtual) meetings between patient and doctor will be presented.
