Objective: Blood-taking from cadaveric donors becomes nessesary if blood from the hospital has not been preserved or is unsiutable for testing.
Methods: Punction of subclavia artery, femoral artery and intracardia punction are used by the staff of the "Mitteldeutsche Corneabank Halle". The applicability of this Methods was compared.
Results: All three Methods are suitably for blood taking from cadaceric donors. Intracardiac Punkction was most effective for taking lage amounts of blood. The possibility of taking other liquids then blood was minimised using the punction of subclavian artery. Because of he missing of femoral pulse the punction of femoral artery was higly difficult.
Conclusion: Blood-taking from cadaveric donors was successful using all three methods. We recommend the puncture of the subclavia artery or the intracardiac puncture as the most safe and effective methods. More than one method should be trained to back up unexpected situations.
