Fundus - Photograph Documentary in Hospitaldata - Management (HDM) University Eye-Hospital of Graz

Objective: The analysis of fundus photographs is an importent
part in ophthalmology. The sooner the photographs are available the better
and efficiency the treatment.
Methods: The digital camera DCS 410 (Kodak) is connected to the
fundus camera FF450 (Zeiss). A Win NT computer takes over the controlling
of both. The photograph, provided from the digital camera, are archivied
with a software called Visupac (Zeiss) and after that tranfered into the
HDM in a hard compressing form by makros.
Results: Within 10 minutes the photographs are available in HDM
for the whole clinic. All the time and from all workstations the photographs
are callable by HDM. The assessment of the photographs are in no way detract
from the hard compression. In addition, this methode allows to apply the
high photograph quality for publication or printing and the hard compression
form for presentations.
Conclusion: The slowly and expensive way of elaboration the traditional
photography are also bypassed such as the scanning of slides, if the photographs
are utilize for publications. Within seconds the doctor receives a listing
of photographs for better decision.
