Der Kurs gibt eine Einführung zum Einsatz und Nutzen von PCs für den Ophthalmologen. Von besonderem Interesse dabei sind neben Office- Anwendungen die Möglichkeiten der Nutzung des Internets. Während des Kurses werden verschiedene internet-basierte Dienste in Online-Verbindungen demonstriert. Der Kurs umfasst u. a. folgendem Themenkomplexe:

• Office-Anwendungen (u. a. Erstellung von Präsentationen inklusive Dias)
• Internet-Zugang, Provider und Online-Dienste in Deutschland, notwendige Software
• Publikationen und Fachgesellschaften im Netz, Download von Programmen und Daten etc.
• Suchen und Finden im World Wide Web (Suchhilfen, Suchstrategien, Datenbanken)
• Kommunikation im Internet (E-mail)
• Selbstdarstellung im Internet (individuelle Homepage)
• Sicherheit im Internet Viren, Würmer, Trojaner, Verschlüsselung, etc.)
  

Im Anschluss an den Kurs (wie auch sonst während der Tagung) besteht die Möglichkeit, das Erlernte im DOG-Internet-Cafe in der Praxis zu erproben.

The course gives an introduction to the use of PC's for ophthalmologists. Of special interest is the Internet. During the course various internet-based services and on-line connections will be demonstrated. Among other topics, the course offered will include the following

• Security in the Internet, virus, worms, Trojans, and coding
  Following the course (and during the entire congress) you will be able to get hands-on experience in the Internet Cafe.
