Conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma is a malignant epithelial tumor of conjunctiva. Squamous cell carcinoma is less agressive than mucoepidermoid carcinoma but it can also deeply invade ocular tissues. Three cases are reported to illustrate this possibility. 1) A 54-year-old male, native of Centrafrica, with conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma invading anterior chamber and anterior orbit. 2) A 65-year-old male, native of Syria, with conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma invading eye and anterior orbit. 3) A 40-year-old female, native of Centrafrica, with conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma invading eye, orbit and regional lymph node. Conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma can deeply invade regional structures like the eye and the orbit. Adequate therapies are required to prevent this evolution. When squamous cell carcinoma is suspected, some investigestions can be needed as ultrasonography, tomodensitometry, HIV serology and, of course, histopathologic study. Histopathologic study is very important in most cases of conjunctival surgery, especially when removing pterygium-like lesions.
