New Requirements for Aviators Fitness, what does the Ophthalmologist need to know?

Due to harmonizing European Requirements for aviators fitness new requirements have been created and will become legal force in Germany after passing the federal council. Ophthalmologists examining applicants or holders of medical flight certificates have to take notice of different changes in the requirements. Especially the limits for visual acuity and refractive error have been modified. Unfortunately there are no limits for glare sensitivity, dark adaptation and stereoscopic function defined. The author will demonstrate how to deal with the new ophthalmological requirements.
