Transpupillar Thermotherapy with Occult Choroidal Neovascularisations
Municipal Hospital Brauschweig, Dept. of Ophthalmology
Purpose: Description of the results of transpupillar thermotherapy (TTT) with age-related exsudative macular degeneration (AMD) using regression calculations.
Method: In exsudative AMD with occult choroidal neovascularisation (CNV) TTTs were performed using a diode laser according to manufacturer's recommendations (Iridex) with laser spot diameters of 1.2, 2 and 3 mm. Controls were carried out after 1, 3, and every 6 months after the initial treatment. Not more than 4 re-treatments were done. Additionally to the usual clinical examinations a threshold plot of the 100-field (Humphrey) and fluorescein angiographies were examined. The patients (n = 142) were grouped according to their suspected size of the CNV (£1, 1.5 - 2.5 , and Zurück | Back
