Abstract
TGFb Effects on Primary Human Tenon Fibroblasts in Regard to Ocular Wound Healing Meyer-ter-Vehn T.1, Grehn F.1, Knaus P.2
Purpose: A major complication after trabeculectomy consists in the postoperative scarring with consecutive therapeutic failure. The growth factor transforming growth factor b (TGFb) plays a pivotal role in the process of wound healing in the eye, TGFb2 appears to be the predominant isoform. This study focuses on the effect of TGFb isoforms on primary human tenon fibroblasts (HTF) as well as on the fibroblast cell line NIH 3T3 with special regard to ocular wound healing. |
