Purpose: Analyses of the immediate and remote results of the traumatic cataract treatment with IOL implantation. Method: Ophthalmoscopy, visometry, biomicroscopy. Results: Analyses of operations for traumatic cataract (TC) on 23 patients (20 males, 3 females, aged 9 to 25) showed that TC was the result of penetrating injury with 18 patients, eye conclusion - with 5 patients. 18 cases had concomitant eye pathology - cornea cicatrice, crystalline lens sinehia (10), deformation of the pupil (9), retina detachment, hemophthalm (2). The trauma induced eye and crystalline lens deformations determined the method of the cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation (IOL). 18 patients has extraocular cataract extraction with IOL implantation (15 PC IOL, 3 AC - IOL). 2 sublixation crystalline lenses were extracted with the noose. Complications: Loss of the hyaloid (4 eyes), formation of crystalline lenses (4 eyes). Long-term operated patients (14 cases) had the back capsule hardening (5 cases) removed by the IAG-laser. One patients had dislocation (dessected) of the crystalline lens. Conclusions: The operation resulted in increasing visual (0.4-1.0) with 16 patients (P<0.05), less than 0.5 with 5 patients (P<0.01).
