The Diagnostic Value of Ultrasound Biomicroscopy for the Surgical Concepts
of the Block Glaucomas

On the basis of appropriate case presentations the diagnostic information of ultrasound biomicroscopy for the differential diagnosis of block glauocmas and the decision making of surgical concepts will be presented. The topographical relationship of angle structures and ciliary body in the UBM findings will be demonstrated for pupillary block glaucoma, ciliary block glaucoma, Plateau-Iris-Syndrom and secundary block glaucoma. The differentiation of the various block mechanisms is considered in problem orientated surgical concepts, which will be discussed.
