Abstract
Eye motility disorders in paranasal diseases Neugebauer A.1, Fricke J.1, Neugebauer P.2
Diseases of the paranasal sinuses may involve orbital structures. By this the motility apparatus of the eye can also be affected. Neurogenic motility disorders induced by such a process are rather nonspecific in respect to an underlying paranasal pathology. Involvement of the eye muscles and soft tissues can be more specific. The synopsis of motility findings, exophthalmometria, visual acuity and visual field findings is guiding in differential diagnosis. Typical findings in acute and chronic inflammations, tumors, ventilation disorders and traumatic diseases are discussed. |
