Purpose:
To provide financial support for doctors from developing countries to study at a German eye clinic.

Terms:
Stipend awards will be based on the quality of the applicant’s scientific contributions to the DOG congress. Congress presenters from Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America are eligible.

Value:
As a general rule, stipends will be given in the amount of 1.000 Euro with a maximum of 10 stipends awarded each year.

Application: Submit three copies of all application materials to

Application Materials:

1. A letter of consent from the host clinic
2. The applicant’s CV

Deadline:
The last day to submit applications is May 15, 2006.

Award:
Awards will be announced at the annual DOG congress

Funding Duration:
The awards will be granted for a period of 3 to 12 months.

Period:
Research funding will be made available on an annual basis. The Deutsche Ophthalmologische Gesellschaft reserves the right to condition this support on the society’s financial status.

Reporting:
Award recipients are asked to present an activity report. Theses reports should be sent to the Deutsche Ophthalmologische Gesellschaft no later than three months after the completion of the visit.
