Dear President,
dear colleagues,
dear friends.

La Société d’Ophtalmologie Française congratulates our great sister, the DOG for 150 years anniversary today. SFO was only born on January 29 of 1883, so we will have to wait 26 more years so old as you. But in the meantime DOG will be older and the race to become equal in this particular point of view is desperately lost for us.

As a matter of fact between both our scientific societies, the correct words defining our links is friendship, co-operation and mutual respect. This was initiated a few years ago by Professor Dr. Christian Hartmann and we have to remember him each time we put a step forward in the organisation of the European ophthalmology.

On behalf of the French ophthalmologists and as a President of the SFO it’s my pleasure and my honour to congratulate our friend, the DOG, for a splendid past and for the great and brilliant future that you will have with the drive of the President Professor Duncker and the Executive Secretary Professor Kampik.

I would like to thank you very much. Merci et Félicitations!
